An unforgivable childhood. I was a slave to corruption as he was my teacher. Taught me why things happens, why things ive seen on tv and conflict between moral dilemma living as a basic lifestyle among my environment. Where we know what we do is wrong, where we know the lives we affect, but yet we do it. Why? poverty is not a status but a virus. It controls you, because the means of living in this society is built soley on the economic factors that shape this nation. Where having no money forces us to take certain actions to survive. Where opportunities arent givin to us, only the options we see that lives in the streets and wander in our front porch. Ridiculed for living this way, we we're labeled as menaces, and a status symbol of fear that dwells internally in our protected city. But we are human regardless.
As the beast can be controlled by the beauty of music, so can our soul be at peace as if we were humans all along. The violent acts and organized crimes that has been spawning throughout our lifetime is only an act of confusion within acceptance Where we thought we know this is it for us, many have accepted life ending before the age of 18, many have thought of getting out, but have been hurt many times with broken hopes and failing dreams. Media protrays us as the worst of society so opportunities are taken from us. You say we're bad people, violent dumb criminals. How do you know a path so well if its one you never took? Have you seen the struggles in our eyes where we risk our lives daily to pay rent, food, bills, and try to at least comprehend a luxury within our lives? people say "get a job" then give me one, and ill show u how i am off the streets. But many dont want to hire people because of our location, our race, our style, and our undeniable past. They say stay in school. But how can we, when we see ourself and our family struggling, and instead of making money for survival, we hittin the books. A life gone so wrong where the parents charge the kids money just to have a meal, a life gone so wrong where just because we live, our life gets taken away by a rival gang, where we suppose to put our comfort in the manners of city protection where they are crooked to us. We are humans too, we smile, we love, we hate, we cry. But thats not enough for the eyes. The only thing they expect from us, is who will be arrested, who will kill, or be killed.
