personal messageJust an average guy, working an average job -- that tends to "show up" in alot of places across the Pacific. Ok - maybe nothing is average - its all to the extreme - but it did sound pretty good for an opener. More like - truly one of those Poet-Warrior types and one of the last great traveling adventurers might be more the case. lol I enjoy the traveling I get to do in Asia and Oceania (and getting tips from friends on all the places to see and do)- getting to help alot of people in distance places in their times of need -and in general really love living life itself. I am an airborne officer that fully enjoys every aspect of life - actual parachute landings are the exception (hitting like a sack of potatoes is about as exciting as it gets)- and I always seem to have a fun time in life's journeys across the globe. I worked and traveled in Central America alot in the last years before we gave the Panama Canal back. Speak a few languages badly, though some say the same about my English because of all the Cajun words I use - and my typing skills as well. A true southern gentleman with a bit of a Louisiana accent from my time prior to Hawaii (ok - alot of accent). I have lived in or visited alot of places: lived in Germany and traveled all across Europe for about 5 years, did a year down in the South Pacific, fours years in Aiea in Hawaii, San Jose, CA for next couple years -and now just moved to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia for some East Coast time and hope to have a home by the holidays! |

At least - that is the story as of now - i am hoping to get 2 weeks to turn things over and get out of here - but right now -- I deploy on Saturday next weekend - but may have until the 15th. It does not leave me with much time to get things done - double so when you are a single officer stationed far away from most of your friends. I was ready for this in Hawaii - but... Twice in my life - I have known fear. And considering that I have done alot, been to alot of places, seen alot of strange things - guess that is not too bad. And it was pretty close to a third time when Loanne was driving us around Mobile - and a circus clown behind us winked at her --and then you realize your riding with the Dukes of Hazzards other sister. Loanne has wrecked more... (continue reading) California House huntingPosted January 28th, 2008 at 05:27am
It has now been 2 weeks - of which only 5 days have really been spent out roamiong all of San Jose from Palo Alto to Milpitas looking at rental houses. After another 8 looked at today - I think I found one I like - as much for the view as for the neighborhood. 2d place was 4 blocks from it - and just a bit tight inbetween very cool houses. But it has been very frustrating trying to find places - craigslist, bayfront rentals, news papers, driving neighborhoods, tips from friends -- but... (continue reading) |
