It was kind of a surprise to hear I would be deploying for Iraq for a year -- and leaving after next weekend for the trainup. At least - that is the story as of now - i am hoping to get 2 weeks to turn things over and get out of here - but right now -- I deploy on Saturday next weekend - but may have until the 15th. Well, there is a rumor out that I have never been afraid - so I figure I better dispell it because its not true. Twice in my life - I have known fear. And considering that I have done alot, been to alot of places, seen alot of strange things - guess that is not too bad. And it was pretty close to a third time when Loanne was driving us around Mobile - and a circus clown behind us winked at her --and then you realize your riding with the Dukes of Hazzards other sister. It has now been 2 weeks - of which only 5 days have really been spent out roamiong all of San Jose from Palo Alto to Milpitas looking at rental houses. After another 8 looked at today - I think I found one I like - as much for the view as for the neighborhood. 2d place was 4 blocks from it - and just a bit tight inbetween very cool houses.

But it has been very frustrating trying to find places - craigslist, bayfront rentals, news papers, driving neighborhoods, tips from friends -- but... (continue reading)
