Well is it just me or are these year flying by? It seems like yesterday we were heading into the 21st century and now here we are approaching 2009. Hello there, my name is Robbie and I can't believe that I have been in this world for 27 years now. I am a 4th Generation Japananese American who was born and raised in the beautiful central coast of California. To be specific my home is Watsonville which is the strawberry capital of the world and the home of Martinelli apple juice. I must mention also that we have the absolute best weather in the world. The closest city to me that you may have heard of is Santa Cruz. Here we are known for our surfing (which I do not do), however I do have that laid back surfer mentality when it comes to life. Now that we know where I am from, lets take a look at some stuff that has gotten me where I am today. As proud as I am to be of Japanese descent nothing makes me prouder than being an American. My family has been farming since the 1940's and my Grandfather Roy and his brother Jim both served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They worked hard and saved enough money to start a farming business of their own. I was raised on the very farm that my grandpa first purchased and in fact my room is the same room that my Dad grew up in. I am currently in the fifth year of my Air Force enlistment and have 3 more years to decide if I want to re-up again or seperate. I have been stationed in Mississippi, Washington, and now back here in California. I have gotten a chance to go across our great country and I have also been able to visit places overseas while serving our country. My trade in the Air Force is fixing and maintaining radio/satellite communication equipment, however I have many other tools which include IT and making a mean Powerpoint presentation. The combination of free travel, free school, and a great experience are many reasons that will make it hard to seperate when the time comes to decide. I stay incredibly busy these days because I have a second job and am still pursuing a college degree. Aside from that I try to squeeze in time at the gym or at least go for a run. While staying busy I hope to continute to invest more and save up to buy a house within the next year or two. When I can I enjoy going out with my friends and having a drink or more. No matter how busy I am, I will always try to catch my sports teams play. I have loved the San Francisco Giants since I could talk and they will always be my first love in sports. I also love the Golden State Warriors, SF 49ers, and CAL football. Before I go, I would like to say that my Grandpa Roy is my hero and my Mom is my inspiration in life. I would love nothing more then to make them proud of me and I will forever be grateful for having them in my life. My two older sisters are great, but I must give much respect to my sister Mindy. She will probably always have to lecture me, but I know that she only wants what is best for me. My Dad and I have made our fair share of mistakes in life, however I know that the two of us will end up just fine. Lastly, to all my fellow patriots who have fallen, you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.
