Well, how we met was something I wasnt actually expecting since the online dating and all that was kind of a joke to me. But, on March 11, 2008, I ended up talking to an actual ASIAN guy named { Steven }. Funny thing is, he was the one that had the guts to find and send me a note. Being the outgoing person that I was, I answered back to him, wondering what was going on and how his life was.

On the next day, I got a huge reply back, which I wasnt expecting at all. It, fortunately, surprised and got me interested in him because the usual replies I got on Asian Avenue were these one or two sentence liners. We ended up talking more and more on Asian Ave. We spent a couple of days talking on the internet until, suddenly, he gave me his phone number, telling me that I could call him whenever.

Well, I ended up calling him that night after he went offline. He was surprised himself that I would even call him this early in the game. He was going to give me a couple of days, thinking I would call him. Silly boy; I was quick to jump the gun for him. Once we got into talking to another, it went on from minutes to hours a day, making us go over the usual cell phone limit.

We talked for about a month until he came down to be my date for the Prom in April. On April 17, 2008, he became the love of my life! Even though, he lived in Louisiana, and I lived in Georgia, we kept on talking even until now on October 17, 2008. Right now, weve been together for a good few months, but I believe that well be together for the rest of our lives.

Right now, when I think about how it would be for me to be single again, I dont think I could take it. Being without Steven would be like losing a piece of my soul; its not possible to pull us from another. Im more than sure that well be getting closer together, letting the distance come down from 600 miles to a mere 50 miles or less.

Steven, you know that I will love you until death, but I would still love you even beyond that! And you know that to be a fact! I love Steven so much and he loves me just as much. I hope that we will flourish as a couple that includes both an Asian man and a Black woman. Down here, its common to see the opposite, but when we walk, the eyes are all on us. Well, no matter what, it doesnt matter because I love him, and they can keep staring all they want.

On here, I envy those that have found love; others, I hope that it will come to them like it did for me. As of now, I?m going to keep on promoting my love for Steven for he completes me as a whole. In my and his family, we wanted to break the barrier or old traditions and go for something that was different, atypical, and would bring a new chapter into the family equation. Right now, my mom doesn?t see that it?s love in between us, but she can call it whatever she likes because I?m going to be with Steven for the rest of my life, so, she better get used to it. She knows that I love her, but, one day, she will need to understand that I love him just as much as her. So, I?ll keep striving to be with the one I love the most, Steven!
