Job Posting ID: 1556Working Location: Ellenwood, GeorgiaEmployment Type: Full-Time RegularPosition Summary:This position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the approved NMS/OSS strategy in an ongoing basis, including but not limited to user training, user requirements for enhancements of current and future toolsets, NMS utilization reporting requirements such as Infovista and Cacti, NMS change control, and level 2 Operations' support for selected Operations' systems such as VECS (occasional use RF access system) and Glowlink carrier management system, Netcracker, and Element Management Systems (EMS). This position will also coordinate all internal and external functions/parties, serve as the primary point-of-contact in coordinating design projects and schedules as required, provide Level 3 ongoing support and maintenance, participate in On-Call activities and provide technical resolutions for escalated operational issues.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology required, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience. Directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the educational requirement. Must possess strong knowledge of protocols SNMPv1, SNMPv2, (and associated MIB structure) RMONv1, and RMONv2 protocols as well as a strong understanding of terrestrial and satellite networking components (i.e. Optical, WAN and LAN technologies like Sonet, ATM, Ethernet, modems, RF etc.).Should have medium to strong level knowledge in at least two (2) of the following: Network Management Systems (NMS) SMARTS InCharge and Cisco VAMS; Element Management Systems (EMS) such as T:DAX T:NMS, New Point, SED, Glowlink, and Cisco CiscoWorks; Performance Management Systems such as Infovista and Cacti; Ticketing Systems such as Remedy and Clarify; Inventory Management Systems such as Netcracker.Extensive experience administering Linux/Unix and Windows Operating Systems.Expert level experience designing, implementing, configuring, and administering Network Management systems Experience in an operations environment, installing or maintaining NOC support systems and customizing systems for specific environment, with working knowledge of frameworks for FCAPS, eTom, NGOSS, and TMF.Strong leadership, organization and planning skills required, including well developed analytical skills and the ability to develop and manipulate spreadsheets.Strong command of the English language required; ability to speak other languages is a significant plus.Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally -- approximately 20% of time may be spent traveling.Required Experience: 3 yearsRequired Education: Bachelors DegreeTravel Required: YesTravel Percentage: 20FLSA: ExemptDepartment Name: Network EngineeringRelocation Provided: No
