Position Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring that bread and bun products are produced at an acceptable quality level and in an efficient manner. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Direct the work of employees within the production department
Schedule department employees and review production schedules
Train employees and develop employee skills
Ensure that products are produced at an acceptable quality level.
Ensure that formulas and QCPs are maintained to Corp's. Standards
Conduct routine safety and sanitation inspections, promote safety and good housekeeping
Coordinate with other departments and managers to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime
Use Dough Scheduling program
Participate in safety and supervisory training programs as available
Reduce scrap dough
Maintain target on injury indices rate
Maintain target on turnover rate
Achieve target score on AIB audit of operational methods and personnel practices
Hold weekly meetings with supervisors
Research opportunities to increase absorption, reduce gluten, reduce overall formula cost while maintaining product quality
BS degree in related field preferred. Will accept high school diploma if candidate has extensive food manufacturing experience in a union environment
Minimum five years experience in production management, preferably food industry
Knowledge of Manufacturing operating equipment
Strong analytical problem solving skills
Strong communication and change management skills
