Contact customers by telephone whose accounts are past due to negotiate appropriate resolutions. Send correspondence to customer in accordance to company policies and procedures. Update and verify customer information on computer system. Recognize potential high risk accounts and develop techniques to help collect money and streamline processes. Contact customers by telephone whose account(s) are past due, notify customer of past due account status, negotiate appropriate resolutions, and send correspondence in accordance with company policies and procedures. Learn collection processes and strategies by working with colleagues within the department. Complete other responsibilities, as assigned. Verify and update customer account information in computer system. Recognize potentially high risk accounts and develop techniques on how to successfully deal with these accounts. Discuss difficult or unique collection problems with Unit Manager, learn how to resolve issues, and apply new information to future collection contacts. Work with Record of Collection Activities and phone tracing customers whose whereabouts are unknown. Basic knowledge of secured and unsecured loan related documents. Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand. Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
