Charlie Chang's music speaks deeper than so many of the overplayed one hit wonders who promise a "new twist" to the same old sound. With a voice that you wouldn't expect to come out of a 22 year old Chinese guy, his songs possess the ability to connect on a personal level, each one speaks directly to the listener: catching their ear and stealing their heart. This, however, is not just an affect of quality music, but also a main goal the singer/songwriter aims for. He has already made his mark quite significantly amongst his small group of followers which has stemmed from friends and teachers, and branched into a fan base that is as loyal to his chords and lyrics as he is to creating them. Charlie's music is as individualistic as the wide variety of listeners he has come to acquire, carrying with it a personal yet original style that allows the songs to speak for themselves. But perhaps above all, Charlie remains true to himself, his beliefs, faith, and personality, and it is this honesty that helps create the heartfelt and meaningful music that has been able to connect so strongly with his listeners.

Happy Chinese New Years Everyone!

Feature on Garageband.com's Pop Rock Track of the Day

Feature on Garageband.com's Pop Rock Front Page

I just recently signed up on Garageband.com, a site where many musicians and patrons can write reviews for random music that the website provides for them. "Headlight Symphony" has been added to their rotation as of 3 days ago and due the many positive reviews that it's received, on June 23rd Garageband.com is going to feature myself and the song on their Pop Rock page as the "Track of the Day"! Very exciting stuff!

And on another side note about the website, they have a chart system based on the reviews and the ratings that each song gets. As of today June 16 at 2:10 a.m. "Headlight Symphony" is number 108 of 368 on the Active Pop Rock chart.

Hope the summer is treating everyone well. More shows will be coming soon, and I'm working on a few new songs, so keep checking back!

Los Angeles Music Awards Nomination

First of all, thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to the May 30th LAMA showcase at the Gig in Hollywood. It was a great show and the first with the full band. This is my sincere thank yous to all.

As of that night I've also received a nomination from the Los Angeles Music Awards for Best Male Singer/Songwriter of the year and another nomination for Best Male Vocals for "I Need You" in the Pop category. The Awards Ceremony isn't till November but this is a very great honor and I'm extremely proud of this nomination considering all the other talented singer/songwriters that Los Angeles has to offer this is incredible news to be recognized. Thanks to everyone who has bought a cd and been coming to the shows. Without you I am nothing and what good is music without ears to listen and appreciate.

You can now find the Charlie Chang EP on iTunes for $5.94. Trust me...I am trying to hold my excitement in...I'm sure a lot of you have seen the bulletins posted about this occasion. Thanks for everyone's kind words and encouragements, if you bought the cd I hope you enjoy it and if you don't enjoy it I promise to do better next time around.

P.S. in order to have a next time around I'm gonna need to make some money...so if you want to buy the cd it'll be like an unspoken contract between us that will state: "I, Charlie Chang, promise to make the next CD a full length album and much better than this EP." ;)
