Au RevoirPosted September 21st, 2009 at 03:05pm
At a training seminar I did this week for Staples University (work training classes), I helped the associates recognize where their boundaries are weak or non-existent. Establishing boundaries empowers you to create more self-respect as well as respect from others.
Sometimes boundaries are difficult to set with others because we want to be adored, be considered open and friendly, and we fear repercussions. However, people who fail to set and maintain boundaries in their life and work often find that it's much harder to meet their own needs, and to prevent others from imposing their needs onto them. I guess I don’t practice what I preach…
I will be on hiatus for a bit, work has been keeping me insanely busy, I’m going through some tough sales tax audits, endless meetings & conference calls, lots of projects I’ve taken ownership of, and plenty of training I have to conduct and participate for, and my journey towards my MBA start in two weeks. I’ve been delaying it, but my work is advising me to go towards it, and is even donating some funds towards my edumacation.
My social life, or the lack of, will be temporarily defunct.
